When people are in distress, it is not helpful to wait for a GPs appointment , offered medication and then wait for an allocated Counsellor for a limited amount of sessions

At Gateway Therapy Sue practices as a Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Life Coach. She has a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling, and a Diploma in Hypnotherapy, she is a member of The Counselling Society.

Psychotherapy is called 'the talking cure' therefore if you are having trouble getting to the root of your problem it may be beneficial to seek the help of a professional.  Sue understands that constantly going over and over things in our minds are attempts to understand why we feel and behave as we do, and why negative things happen to us.  When we cannot find answers to our problems we cannot live our lives to the full. She uses the techniques of Person Centred Counselling and takes the view that everyone has within themselves the ability to solve their own problems and gain the inner strength to grow as an individual. Also incorporating Cognitive Therapy or CBT which helps to conquer the negative thoughts that can control our lives if we let them. She doesn't just sit and look at you while you do all the talking.

Sue is a fully qualified, supervised, registered and accredited psychotherapist.  Apart from the years of training in complimentary and alternative therapies she has much life experience being a mother and grandmother.  She taught for many years whilst also running her own business and can offer help with your problems in a safe, relaxing and totally confidential, professional environment with no interruptions.

Sue is available for appointments at Cheldgate House in Rochester High Street, appointments can be made at short notice in our comfortable private office.  The telephone numbers are direct lines through to Sue, you will not have to talk to a Receptionist.  Evening and weekend appointments available.
